We are already a Ford family, so the fact that Ford allows acces to vehicle diagnostics with FORScan and the OBDLink EX on Pop!_OS Linux is all the reason I need to stick with them. It really is kinda a big deal.

Seamless Integration with FORScan and Wine
FORScan’s compatibility with Wine on Linux was a pleasant surprise. The installation process was straightforward, requiring no additional configuration. After installing Wine, I downloaded and installed FORScan, then added my user to the “dialout” group with
sudo usermod -a -G dialout $USER
followed by a system reboot.
Licensing: Supporting the Project
I chose FORScan’s extended license over the free version, which requires bi-monthly renewal (every two months). This decision was not just for convenience but also to support the FORScan project. Plenty of helpful YouTube guides are available for those looking to register and acquire a license.
Upcoming Educational Endeavors
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be expanding my knowledge by taking courses at HP Academy on CAN Bus, EFI Tuning, and Reflash Tuning. The prospect of exploring open-source re flashing packages is particularly interesting, aligning perfectly with my interest in open and decentralized technology.
